Blue Star launches 75 models in AC range, eyes 13.5 pc market share in FY20
 
Chandigarh: Celebrating platinum jubilee year of its operations, Air conditioning and commercial refrigeration major Blue Star Limited on Wednesday announced to launch 75 new models of room air conditioners including a 7-star integrated air purifier technology air conditioners and also to foray into room coolers segment with wide range of its products.

Speaking on the occasion, C P Mukundan Menon, President, Sales and Marketing Products Business, said that the super and stylish models of 3 to 5 star AC also include super energy efficient inverter ACs capable of delivering 30 per cent extra cooling room air about 18 per cent less power consumption thus, setting a new benchmark on the energy efficiency front. All these ACs come with heavy duty Compressor with ten years warranty.

He said the company has also launched 7-star inverter ACs range with integrated air purifier, anti bacterial & PM 2.5 thus, no need to buy costly air purifier for household separately and would come with more innovative air conditioning and refrigeration products in coming years. He also shared the company''s investment plans of about Rs 55 crores in the forthcoming summer as against Rs 45 crores in FY19 on publicity campaign.

"Around 14 crore ACs unit are sold every year globally and out of these eight crores are sold in China. In India the penetration level is very minimal and stands at around 55 lakh units with overall market size of about Rs 11,500 crore thus, having a lot of potential of growth in segment. The domestic market is growing roughly at 10 per cent whereas blue star eyes 15 per cent growth and 13.5 per cent market share in FY20 as against 12.8 per cent in FY19", Mr Menon said.

The company had sales turnover of about Rs 4,600 crore turnover in FY18 in which includes earnings of about five per cent from exports to 17 countries. "We eye to double the exports to ten per cent in next three years," Mr Menon added.
