Hyderabad, Telugu film actor Sai DharamTej, nephew of Mega Star Chiranjeevi, who was injured when the two wheeler he was riding skidded on the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge in Madhapur area of the city on Friday night and remains stable as he undergoes treatment at Apollo hospital at Jubilee hills in Hyderabad. A Health bulletin issued by the Apollo Hospitals on Saturday said “Mr Sai Dharam Tej is stable and all major organs are functioning well”.
‘The 34-year-old actor will continue to be on assisted respiration in ICU for controlled close monitoring and additional investigation will be performed during the day,’ the bulletin said. The next medical update will be shared tomorrow, the hospital added.
The incident took place around 7.30 PM on Friday and he was shifted to a nearby hospital immediately. After basic treatment, he was shifted to Apollo Hospital in the city for further treatment at night. Megastar Chiranjeevi, who took to social media, assured fans that his nephew , actor Dharam Tej is safe. After news broke, Dharam Tej’s family members including uncles Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Allu Aravind, brother Vaishnav Tej and cousins Ram Charan, Varun Tej, Niharika Konidela rushed to the hospital. Friends like Sundeep Kishan, Vishnu Manchu, Lakshmi Manchu and well-wishers like Prakash Raj, Srikath and Jaya Prada also went to meet him. According to Madhapur police, the actor wasn’t under the influence of alcohol and that it was a clear case of skid due to speeding.
However, the CCTV footage sees the actor crashing on the road and skidding. Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav who visited the actor at the hospital on Saturday said that there was no cause for concern as the actor escaped with minor injuries. The Raidurg police have registered a case against Sai Dharam Tej under section 279 and 336 of IPC for rash driving and endangering human life and personal safety of others. The police also registered another case against the actor under 186 Motor Vehicle Act.
