Israel strikes on Gaza arson balloons launchers, no injuries reported

Gaza: Israeli drones fired two missiles on Wednesday evening near al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza Strip close to the border with Israel, according to Palestine Today Radio in Gaza. It quoted eyewitnesses in the field as saying that Israeli army drones fired one missile at an empty area close to a group of young men who were gathering near the border, adding that no injuries were reported.

The witnesses said that another missile was fired at a three-wheel motorcycle that drove near the fence of the border with Israel, adding that the driver of the motorcycle was slightly injured in his leg. The Israeli airstrike on the area came shortly after several Palestinians sent arson balloons which carried explosives and landed into southern Israel. Israeli media quoted Israeli army sources saying that Israeli war planes attacked a military post that belongs to Hamas movement in response to releasing arson balloons from central Gaza Strip into Israel.

An Israeli army spokesman said in a press statement that the Israeli Army Air Forces hit a target that belongs to Hamas militants in central Gaza Strip following a Palestinian attempt to infiltrate into Israel through the border. Earlier this week, Palestinian members of the High Commission of the Marches of Return resumed releasing arson balloons from the Gaza Strip into Israel and intensified their day and night protests on the border with Israel.

Health officials in the Gaza Strip said that since the beginning of the Marches of Return in last March, the Israeli army shot dead more than 250 Palestinians and wounded around 26,000 others, most of them were shot by Israeli soldiers'' gunfire during the rallies.
