Action will be taken against Chaithra Teresa John: CM

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Monday that action will be taken against Chaithra Teresa John for the raid she conducted in the party office.

"The government would not approve any actions intended to ruin the independent functioning of any political parties. A democracy can advance only by correcting such tendencies" he added.

The CM was responding to a submission moved by the opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala in the assembly session. The submission was regarding the action against Chaithra Teresa John who had conducted a raid in the CPM district committee office on January 24 in Thiruvananthapuram.

A complaint has been given by the CPM district secretary regarding the police examination in the district office. It is the government's duty to consider the complaints given by a leader of the political party seriously, said the CM.
