Crime Branch to probe violinist Balabhaskar's death

Thiruvananthapuram: The Crime Branch will probe the death of violinist Balabhaskar. Director General of Police Loknath Behra issued an order regarding this on Tuesday.

Balabhaskar's father Unni demanded Crime Branch inquiry into the death of his son. Earlier the investigation team headed by Attingal DYSP Anilkumar concluded that there was nothing suspicious about the death of Balabhaskar. But Unni filed a complaint with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the DGP stating that there was something suspicious about his son's death. He also expressed suspicion on Balabhaskar's financial dealings with an Ayurveda doctor at Palakkad

Balabhaskar died in October last year in a car accident at Pallipuram in Thiruvananthapuram. Balabhaskar and his family along with Arjun were on their way back to Thiruvananthapuram from Thrissur. His daughter Tejaswini Bala died on spot. Lekshmi and Arjun who were admitted in the hospital survived the accident.
