IUML dissolves Haritha-MSF, the women arm of the party’s student wing

Malappuram, The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has dissolved Haritha-MSF, the women-student wing of the party, for alleged gross indiscipline.
League state general secretary P N A Salam told reporters here on Wednesday that the state committee of the party had recommended the dissolution of Haritha-MSF and a new committee will be constituted soon. The reason attributed for the action is gross indiscipline but without explaining what.
Ten of the Haritha leaders had recently approached the State Women’s Commission (SWC) against two MSF leaders alleging use of abusive language and passing derogatory remarks against them at a state committee meeting early this year.
The League however had instructed the Haritha leaders to withdraw the complaint with SWC. However, the Haritha leadership was firm and said it would withdraw their complaint once an action was taken against the guilty leaders.
It was the first time ever that any woman leader in the party was lodging a complaint with the leadership of their parent organisation first and later approaching the STC. The Haritha leadership had come out in the open on the issue which was under the consideration of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) and the SWC.
Earlier, the party had freezed the Haritha state committee for making public the issue, which was treated as gross indiscipline. The League in an effort to appease the Haritha leaders indeed had sought explanation from MSF leaders --state president P K Nawaz, Malappuram district president Kabir Muthuparamba and district general secretary V A Wahab--who have allegedly made anti-women remarks. However, Haritha was not satisfied with the show cause notice alone but stuck to their stand of taking action against the MSF leaders.
