Kerala State Film Awards 2019 announced: Jayasurya, Soubin, Nimisha, Kanthan: The Lover of Color bags top honours
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State Film Awards for the year 2018 has been announced. While Jayasurya (Captain, Njan Marykutty) and Soubin Shahir (Sudani from Nigeria) won the Best Actor award, Nimisha Sajayan (Chola, Oru Kuprasidha Payyan) bagged the Best Actress trophy.
Kanthan: The Lover of Color has been adjudged as the Best Film of 2018. Sunday is the second best film and Sudani from Nigeria is the best popular film.
Shyama Prasad has won the Best Director award for Sunday. Zakariya Mohammed (Sudani from Nigeria) is the Best Debut Director.
While Joju bagged the Best Character Actor award for Chola and Joseph, Savithri Sreedharan and Sarasa Baluserry shared Best Character Actress award.

Best Male Dubbing Artist : Shammi Thilakan (Odiyan)
Best Make up- Ronex Xavier (Njan Marykutty)
104 films including 100 feature films and four children's movies competed under various categories. The jury for the 49th Kerala State Film Awards is chaired by director and screenwriter Kumar Shahani.
