LDF to field NCP leader Mani C Kappan in Pala seat
 
Thiruvananthapuram: The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) will field NCP leader and film producer Mani C Kappan from the Pala Assembly seat where bye-election to be held on September 23. A decision on the candidature of Mani C Kappan was taken by NCP State leaders who met here on Wednesday and this will be conveyed to the LDF, sources said. This is the fourth consecutive time, Kappan is contesting Assembly poll from Pala. The bypolls was necessitated following the demise of former Kerala Finance Minister and the state Congress leader KM Mani. Meanwhile, Ms Nisha, wife of Rajya Sabha MP and Kerala Congress leader Jose K Mani, is likely to contest from the seat, according to the party sources here.

Another senior leader, PJ Joseph, who is a tug of war with Jose K Mani, clarified that he will welcome Ms Nisha only if she has the chance of winning the seat.
