New Delhi, President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed grief over the loss of lives due to a fire at a hospital in Maharashtra's Ahmednagar, and wished speedy recovery to those injured in the incident.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the Prime Minister said, "Anguished by the loss of lives due to a fire in a hospital in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. Condolences to the bereaved families. May the injured recover at the earliest."
The President in a tweet in Hindi said, "The news of death of people due to fire at a Civil Hospital in Ahmednagar in Maharashtra is extremely said. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wish a speedy recovery to those injured."
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took to Twitter and expressed grief over the loss of lives. He prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.
Ten Covid-19 patients died and eight patients received burn injuries in a fire that broke out in the ICU ward of the Ahmednagar Civil Hospital in Maharashtra on Saturday.
