NIA, Military Intelligence, ATS conduct probe into abandoned bullets
Kollam: The officials of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the Military Intelligence and the Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) on Sunday conducted separate probes into the 14 foreign-made live cartridges, which were found abandoned on a roadside at Kulathupuzha in this district on Saturday. The officials reached the Kulathupuzha police station and examined the bullets and confirmed that they were made in Pakistan Ordinance Factory (POF), sources said.
The 14 bullets packed in a plastic cover were found near the Muppathadi bridge on Thiruvananthapuram-Chencotta Inter-State road. The bullets were made in the period between 1981-82 and could be used in modern long range weapons of Pakistan Armed Forces. The recent CAG report reveals that 25 INSAS rifles and 12,061 live cartridges were found missing from Kerala Police.
