Thiruvananthapuram, Strict restrictions will be imposed during night from December 30 to January 2 in Kerala to control the spread of Omicron variant of COVID-19. A decision in this regard was taken in a COVID review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan here on Monday.
The night restrictions will be imposed from 2200 hrs to 0500 hrs on these days. New Year celebrations will also be restricted after 2200 hrs on December 31.
In connection with the New Year celebrations, sectoral magistrates will be in duty during night period in places where a large number of people are expected to gather for new year celebrations. Bars, Clubs, Hotels, Restaurants, will continue to function with a maximum seating capacity of 50 per cent.
