Thiruvananthapuram: A red alert has been declared in Idukki, Alappuzha and Ernakulam on August 13, Tuesday. Also red alert has been declared in Kozhikode and Malappuram on August 14, Wednesday.
Indian Meteorological Department has warned the public to stay alert as there is possibility for rainfall more than 20cm in these districts.
The low pressure formed along West Bengal- Odisha coast has gained strength and moved towards the shore. This may attain more strength in the next 48 hours resulting in heavy rainfall. As chances for heavy rainfall is issued by IMD more people are shifting to relief camps.
