Where are 2 crore jobs, asks Priyanka; urges people to quiz Govt on real issues

Gandhinagar: Slamming Narendra Modi government for its failure to create jobs, bring back black money and ensure women safety, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday called on the people to question the government on these issues. Addressing a public rally here, Ms Vadra in an apparent reference to the BJP trying to evoke nationalistic sentiments in the wake of Pulwama said, ''''I want to say that there is no greater nationalism than to be aware. Your awareness and your vote is a weapon that can help make you strong. However, you have to ponder deeply as to whom you are voting for.

So the issues that need to be raised should be ones that are most important for you. These include questions like how will youth get jobs, how will women feel safe, secure and get empowered and what will be done for the farmer welfare. These are the real issues and it is only your awareness that can bring them to the fore, she added. I urge you to take a decision after due consideration. To people who make big promises to you, you need to ask where are the 2 crore jobs that they had promised and ask them where are Rs 15 lakh that they promised to deposit in your accounts. Has anybody paid attention to the condition of women who promised safety and security during last elections she said.

Ms Vadra said that she was saddened by what was happening in the country. Institutions are being destroyed, wherever you see, hatred is being spread she said. Earlier on Tuesday, Congress General Secretary and star campaigner, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who has been made AICC General secretary in charge for Uttar Pradesh east, attended the meeting of the CWC for the first time after assuming the post.
