Pathanamthitta: Recalling Sabarimala agitation, BJP National President Amit Shah on Saturday said NDA candidate K Surendran contesting the Parliament seat here represents believers all over the world. Addressing a road show, Shah said the candidature of Surendran in Pathanamthitta (where Sabarimala temple situates) is for giving a message that the party gives importance to protect customs and traditions.
Due to heavy rains, Amit Shah, who reached to address a public meeting, cut short the programme and addressed the crowd from his campaign vehicle. Seeking votes for K Surendran, he urged people to voted out the Left Government from the power and said the NDA candidate is not only contesting to win Pathanamthitta seat but also fighting to protect the rights of believers all over the world.
Later, Shah left for Alappuzha to attend an election rally. Shah arrived by a helicopter from Thiruvananthapuram. BJP State President PS Sreedharan Pillai, cricketer Sreesanth, former women commission member Prameela Devi, PC Thomas MLA were among others.
