New Delhi, Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General MM Naravane on Friday visited the Western Command headquarters at Chandimandir in Haryana's Panchkula district and took stock of operational preparedness.
During the visit, Gen Naravane was updated on various operational and training related issues by Western Army Commander Lt General RP Singh, a Defence release said.
Addressing the officers, the Army Chief exhorted them to serve with pride and in doing so uphold the military ethos and the rich culture of the Indian Army.
Highlighting the various force modernisation measures being undertaken by the Indian Army, General Naravane emphasised that soldiers must also keep themselves abreast with latest trends in information technology, emerging cyber threats and counter-measures.
Later, the Army Chief interacted with the troops and lauded them for their professionalism and undaunted spirit in maintaining a high state of combat readiness despite the restrictions imposed by Covid pandemic.
He exhorted all ranks to continue working with zeal and be prepared for any future operational challenges.
