Cong sets up election committees for Mah polls
 
New Delhi, Jan 23 (UNI) The Congress on Wednesday set up the election committee, campaign committee, manifesto committee, and the publicity committee for the Assembly polls in Maharashtra. According to a statement by AICC general secretary K C Venugopal, '''' Congress president Rahul Gandhi has approved the proposal of the coordination committee, pradesh election committee, campaign committee, media coordination committee, manifesto committee, publicity committee and election management team for the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress committee.''''

The 29-member election coordination committee, chaired by AICC general secretary in-charge Mallikarjun Kharge and comprises senior leaders Ashok Chavan, Prithviraj Chavan, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Mukul Wasnik and Rajni Patil while the Pradesh election committee Will have 31 members. The campaign committee, chaired by Sushil Kumar Shinde, will have 64 members while the publicity and publication committee, chaired by Ratnakar Mahajan will have 25 members and the media and communication committee, chaired by Kumar Ketkar, will have 20 members.

The manifesto committee, chaired by Prithviraj Chavan and co-chaired by Balachandra Mungekar, will have 30 members. The election management team, chaired by Sharad Ranpise, will have five members. Elections to the Maharashtra Assembly are scheduled later this year.
