International calls diversion racket held in Telangana
Hyderabad, May 20 (UNI) The City police have busted an International calls diversion racket by arresting two persons here on Monday. On the tip of information, the sleuths of Falaknuma police have arrested firstly Airtel SIM cards retail seller Yousuf Hassan and subsequently Mohammed Amjad Khan, who were indulging in converting the international calls to local calls for their monetary gain causing loss to the exchequer and National security threat to the Government of India.

The accused Amjad, who procured the VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) devices/sim Boxes through Courier from China, has purchased the Airtel SIM cards illegally and installed the Telecom set up with internet connection and to avoid interruption have installed Inverter with Batteries, at one at Jahanuma, Hyderabad in a rented flat, and also another in a Pent House of a building located at Ali Bagh, Kalapathar, and started receiving the international calls and he used to deroute the calls through the above VoIP devices, and used to earn huge money from the callers.

On scientific and technical analysis of the ISD calls, the security wing telecom department Ashish Chugh has lodged complaint with the Police and subsequently the police swing into action, identified the person Yousuf, who has purchased number of SIM Cards and those cards are being used from one location. The force also recovered eight sims boxes, along with other material, 1 laptop, 3 cell phones and a Honda city car from the accused. Amjad is indulged in this illegal work from past six years and approximately he has earned 1.44 crore and made loss to Government of India. Both the arrested accused persons are being produced before the court for judicial remand.
