Would you have said same thing if it was Shweta or Abhishek in my place: Kangana to Jaya

New Delhi: Attacking Samajwadi Party (SP) Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan on her remarks in Parliament in which she accused some people of tarnishing the image of the film industry, Actress Kangana Ranaut on Tuesday asked her whether she would have said the same thing if it had been her daughter Shweta and son Abhishek in her place. In a Zero hour mention in the Rajya Sabha, Ms Bachchan spoke on the issue of drug addiction in the Bollywood, and said that a conspiracy is being done to defame the film industry. "Just because there are some people, you can''t tarnish the image of the entire industry.

I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it. It is a shame," said Ms Bachchan in the Rajya Sabha. "People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that government tells such people not to use this kind of language," the veteran actor said. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Kangana said in a series of tweets,"Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta who had been beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage.

Would you say the same thing if Abhishek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and was found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also". "There are no proper HR departments in production houses where women can complain, no safety or insurances for those who risk their lives every day,no 8 hours shift regulations," Kangana said. "This mentality that gareeb ko roti mila toh that''s enough need to change, gareeb ko roti ke saath samman aur payaar bhi chahiye, I have a full list of reforms I want from centre government for workers and junior artists. Some day if I meet honourable Prime Minister I will discuss," the actress said.

"As and when I get time to meet authorities I will share the detailed list of reforms I have prepared for labourers in the film industry across India so that young leading Indians can fight for similar reforms for their underprivileged friends in their own respective fields," Kangana said.
