Kabul, Nearly 80 per cent of journalists in Afghanistan have lost their jobs and had to resort to other professions for survival and money, media reported on Tuesday.
The journalists are facing the worst economic situation as 79 per cent of them have lost their jobs, according to a survey conducted by the Journalists’ Foundation of Afghanistan. In past one-and-a-half months, the foundation has observed that found the lives of Afghan journalists have been badly affected due to the fragile economic situation.
Up to 75 per cent of media in Afghanistan have been closed due to financial woes, The Khaama News Agency reported. The foundation also urged the International Community and Taliban to take the economic condition of the journalists into cognisance.
