Kerala CM greet Oommen Chandy on his 79th birthday
Kochi: Kerala Chief Minister Pinsrayi Vijayan greet senior Congress leader and former chief minister Oommen Chandy on his 79th birthday at Aluva Guest House here on Monday.
The Chief Minister arrived at the Aluva Guest House to meet Oommen Chandy before he leaving for Germany for throat treatment at the the Charité – Universitätsmedizin in Berlin, which is one of Europe’s largest university hospitals.
Earlier, Governor Arif Mohammed Khan tweeted that "Hearty birthday greetings to Shri Oommen Chandy, former Chief Minister who is turning 80. I wish Shri @Oommen_Chandy good health, happiness and the continued love and trust of the people of Kerala."
KPCC President K Sudhakaran tweeted that "Oommen Chandy is a role model for all those seeking to understand how to make an impact with their life. Wishing him happy birthday and good health!"
Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala said "Wishing senior Congress leader and former CM @Oommen_Chandy a very happy birthday. Praying for his health and longevity. May you serve the people of Kerala for years to come." Congress leader Dr Shashi Tharoor tweeted that "Wishing my much respected senior colleague Shri @Oommen_Chandy ji a wonderful 79th birthday on October 31 — a birth date he shares with the immortal Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel."
Oommen Chandy is one of the most popular faces of Congress in Kerala, representing his home town Puthupally in Kottayam district since 1970.
