Tehran: Iran government''s Attorney General Ali Qasi Mehr on Monday said Iran has approached the Interpol for securing the arrest of 36 prominent US political and military officials, including President Donald Trump. Iran government suspects these high-ranking officials to be involved in the killing of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, who was assassinated on January 3 this year in a drone attack, Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), the official news agency of the Islamic Republic of Iran, reported.
Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani was the commander of Iran''s Quds Force, a military division primarily responsible for extraterritorial military and clandestine operations. IRNA quoted Tehran Prosecutor Ali Qasi Mehr as saying that these 36 people ''have been investigated'' and Iran has asked the Interpol to issue ''red notices'' for them. Red notice is the highest level of notice the Interpol can issue, for securing the arrest of any individual.
