'Super 30' to be exempted from state GST in Maharashtra

MUMBAI: The BJP-led government in Maharashtra on Tuesday decided to exempt the film 'Super 30' from the state goods and services tax (GST).

The decision was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis here earlier in the day, an official said.

Starring Hrithik Roshan in the lead role, the film is based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar, who prepares underprivileged students for entrance to IITs, under his 'Super 30' programme.

The movie has already been made tax-free in Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Delhi.

The biopic, that released on July 12, has already crossed the Rs 100 crore mark.
