Shah slams Congress, left parties for creating riots spreading lies on CAA

Bhubaneswar:Union Home Minister Amit Shaha today accused the opposition parties, particularly the Congress and the left parties of creating riots in the country by spreading misinformation on the CAA.

Addressing a public meeting here organized by his party in support of CAA, Mr.Shah said CAA is not an Act to take away the citizenship of anyone but an Act to grant citizenship. There was not a single clause in the Act which has the provision to take away the citizenship of Minorities, Mr.Shah stated.

But the Opposition parties were launching a propaganda and misleading the people that the CAA will take away the citizenship of Muslims, he alleged. The Congress, the BSP, SP and the Trinamool Congress were opposing the CAA only for political gains and their arguments that the rights of Muslims will be taken away by the CAA is completely baseless, the union home minister said.

Mr Shah was here to preside over the 24th Eastern Zonal Council meeting attended by the chief ministers of Odisha ,West Bengal and Bihar. The Jharkhand Chief Minister was represented by his Finance Minister in the meeting. Today was the first public meeting of Mr. Shah in support of the CAA after the anti-CAA violence in Delhi claimed more than 40 lives so far.

Coming down heavily on the Congress, Mr.Shah said the party has promised many a times in the past to give Citizenship to the minorities but has never kept its promise whereas Mr Narendra Modi has enacted the Act to give citizenship to the minorities. Mr.Shah said several issues, attached with the sentiments of the people and pending for last seventy years by the Congress, were taken up after Mr. Modi assumed the power as Prime Minister.

He said it was due to the abrogation of article 370 on August 5,2019,Kashmir is now an integral part of India. Similarly, the Ram mandir issues was kept hanging by the Congress government but Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now constituted the trust and the Ram temple will be now built.
