CSK batting coach Mike Hussey, tests COVID negative, leaves for Australia via Doha
 
Chennai: IPL Franchisee Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batting coach Mike Hussey has tested negative for COVID-19 and left for Australia on Sunday via Doha.

Confirming this, CSK CEO K S Viswanathan after an RT-PCR test returned negative on Friday, Hussey today took a flight to Doha from where he will head for Australia.Hussey had first tested positive during the now-suspended IPL and will reach home on Monday.

In view of the rapid increase in COVID cases across the country and four players testing positive inside the bio-bubble, the 14th edition of the IPL was suspended on May four and foreign players of various franchisees have left for their home country.Those tested positive included Mike Hussey and CSK bowling coach L Balaji. They were brought to Chennai from Delhi in an air ambulance and were quarantined.

Other Australian cricketers including Pat Cummins, Seve Smith, David Warner, who played in this edition of IPL, took a detour to Maldives, quarantined there and headed back to Australia.The players had to take a detour as Australia had banned all flights from India in view of massive spike in COVID cases.

Hussey could not join his compatriots in Maldives after he tested positive for COVID and has to be under quarantine here.

Now that he has tested negative, Hussey's wait is finally over and he took a flight to Doha from where he would go to Australia.
