Yuvraj hails Stuart Broad for taking 500 Test wickets, calls him a legend

New Delhi: Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh on Wednesday hailed Stuart Broad after the England cricketer became only the seventh bowler and fourth pacer to take 500 wickets in Test cricket. Broad became the latest entrant in the 500 wickets club when he dismissed Windies batsman Kraigg Brathwaite on the fifth day of the Manchester Test.

His 10-wicket haul in the third and final Test against West Indies helped England win the match and the Wisden Trophy series on Tuesday. Yuvraj took to Twitter to congratulate Broad and asked his fans to applaud the pacer''s hard work and achievement. ''''I''m sure every time I write something about @StuartBroad8, people relate to him getting hit for 6 sixes! Today I request all my fans to applaud what he has achieved! 500 test wickets is no joke ? it takes hard work, dedication & determination.

Broady you''re a legend! Hats off,'''' Yuvraj tweeted. Notably, Broad was only in his second year in international cricket when Yuvraj Singh smashed Stuart Broad for six successive sixes in one over in during India''s clash against England in the inaugural World T20 in 2007. Since that forgettable night, Broad has not only improved as a bowler but also became one of the greatest red-ball exponents in Test cricket. He has played 140 Tests, 121 ODIs and 56 T20Is for England, bagging 744 international wickets across formats so far
