Thiruvananthapuram: Finland has expressed interest in implementing the Kerala Education Department’s Little KITES programme in their schools.The Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) will provide technical assistance for this.
This was decided at a meeting held at Helsinki between the Finland Education Department and a Kerala team comprising of Dr. V P Joy, Chief Secretary Dr. V K Ramachandran State Planning Board Vice Chairman and A P M Mohammed Hanish, Principal Secretary, General Education Department.
The Little KITES IT Clubs is India’s largest ICT network of students in over 2,000 schools, totalling 1.70 lakh student members. “I congratulate all who are part of Little KITES programme, which has gained global attention," said V. Sivankutty, the Minister for General Education. “KITE is equipped to provide consultancy support in FOSS based digital education activities to other states and countries,” said K Anvar Sadath, CEO, KITE.
