New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here for a complete health check up before the beginning of the Parliament Session, the hospital authority said in an official statement on Sunday. "Sri Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister was discharged from AIIMS, New Delhi after post- Covid care on August 30.As per the advice given at discharge, he has now been admitted for complete medical checkup before Parliament session for 1-2 days," the statement said.
The monsoon session of Parliament is beginning from September 14 onwards. Due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all the Members of Parliament, as per the latest guidelines, have been asked to get a Covid test done before attending the truncated session. As per the AIIMS, Mr Shah was admitted to the hospital at around 2300 hrs on Saturday. The 55-year-old leader had tested positive for the virus on August 2 when he was admitted to the Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. He was discharged on August 14 and and went for home isolation.
However, on August 18, he was admitted to the AIIMS following a complain of "fatigue and body ache". Mr Shah was discharged from the hospital on August 31 when he fully recovered.
