Cheating Case : IUML removes its MLA as Chairman of UDF Kasaragod district committee
Malappuram: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has removed its Manjeswaram MLA M C Kamaruddin from the post of Chairman of UDF Kasaragod district committee after he was allegedly involved in a series of cheating cases. The IUML legislator is also the Chairman of Fashion Gold Jewellery. Cheating cases has been registered against the MLA and his partners.

The controversial case is that Kamaruddin and his partners of the jewellery group have cheated hundreds of investors amounting to over 100 crore. Announcing this at a press conference here on Thursday, Senior IUML leaders K P A Majeed and P K Kunhalikutty said the district leadership will elect a new leader to the post. The MLA has been asked to submit a detailed statement of the liabilities to the party by the month-end, Mr Majeed informed. Though the issue is personal, the party considers cases of liabilities and cheating cases against its leader seriously and hence he was directed to repay everything and clear from all liabilities within six months.

The Kasargod District Committee President Kallatra Muhammed Yasin has been entrusted the responsibility of reporting all in this regard to the party, they said. IUMLSupremo Panakkad Hyderabli Shihab Thangal was also present at the press briefing.
