Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan have condoled the demise of Congress MLA PT Thomas who died at Christian Medical College in Vellore in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday morning.
In a message, the Governor said “As a vibrant and dedicated legislator and parliamentarian, Shri Thomas had endeared himself to the people. He was also noted for his fearless support to the protection of the environment."
"My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the people of his constituency. May his soul rest in peace," he added.
Expressing sorrow over the demise of the MLA, the Chief Minister said PT Thomas represented Thrikkakara Assembly Constituency was an able parliamentarian who raised issues and firmly stood for his political perspective.
"We lost an excellent parliamentarian as well as orator," he added. Senior Congress leader and former opposition leader in Kerala Assembly Ramesh Chennithala said "I will miss a great friend in PT Thomas, MLA who left us today. A straight forward Congress man who always stood for what's right without thinking about the consequences. Recently I met him in hospital and I was hopeful of his come back. Rest in peace PT."
