Thiruvananthapuram: Showing no respite from rising number of COVID cases and deaths, Kerala on Friday reported fresh 29,322 positive cases and 131 deaths.
About 22,938 people have recovered from the disease today, a press release from the health department said this evening.
Meanwhile, 131 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid taking the death toll in the state to 21,280.
About 1,63,691 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) is 17.91 %. A total of 3,20,65,533 samples have been sent for testing till this day.
Currently 5,78,704 people are under observation in the state -- 5,45,246 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 33,458 in hospitals. Today, 3,112 people were admitted to the hospital with virus Infection.
Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) is above 7 at 296 places under various Local Self Governments (LSGs) where strict restriction is being imposed.
In the last 24 hours, Covid was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK. So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the genetically modified.
