Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala government has decided to distribute Solar lanterns to 109 tribal families residing in Sabarimala region who are not having any source of light during the night. Sources said, the lantern’s battery can be charged using sunlight and it continuously works for four hours. The scheme will be implemented with the support of Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology (ANERT), a state government's organisation for Renewable Energy.
