Southwest monsoon vigorous over Kerala
 
Thiruvananthapuram, Southwest monsoon has been vigorous over Kerala. Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places in Kerala from 9 to 13 October, a MeT press release said here on Saturday.
Rain occurred at most places in Kerala and Lakshadweep. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these sea during the period mentioned above.
Heavy (7- 11 cm in 24 hours) rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places in Kerala from October 9 and 10.
Heavy (7- 11 cm in 24 hours) to Vey Heavy (12-20 cm in 24 hours) rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places in Kerala from October 11 to 13.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall reports in cm are Pattambi (Palakkad district) 12, Karipur AP (Malappuram district), NAS Kochi (Ernakulam district) & Poonjar AWS (Kottayam district) 11 each, Konni (Pathanamthitta district), Peerumedu (Idukki district) & Palluruthy ARG (Ernakulam district) 10 each, Ernakulam South, Thrithala (Palakkad district) & Anakayam ARG (Malappuram district) 9 each, Thodupuzha (Idukki district), Enamakkal (Thrissur district) & Seethathode AWS (Pathanamthitta district) 8 each, Alappuzha, C.I.A.L. Kochi (Ernakulam district), Punalur (Kollam district), Kottayam, Kayamkulam_agri & Cherthala (both in Alappuzha district), Peringalkuthu AWS (Thrissur district), Thenmala ARG (Kollam district), Thodupuzha ARG (Idukki district), Muvattupuzha ARG, Keerampara ARG & Neeleswaram ARG (all in Ernakulam district) 7 each. Other chief amounts of rainfall reports in cm are: Kozhikode, Vellanikkara (Thrissur district),Kozha & Vaikom (both in Kottayam district), Idukki, Aluva (Ernakulam district), Kodungallur & Irinjalakuda (both in Thrissur district), Ottappalam & Mannarkkad (both in Palakkad district), Manjeri (Malappuram district), Kottarakkara AWS (Kollam district), Kakkayam AWS (Kozhikode district) & Padinjarathara Dam AWS (Wayanad district) 6 each, Kannur, Aryankavu (Kollam district), Kayamkulam & Mavelikkara (both in Alappuzha district), Kanjirappally (Kottayam district), Piravam (Ernakulam district), Vadakkancherry (Thrissur district), Perinthalamanna (Malappuram district), West Kallada AWS (Kollam district) & Konni ARG (Pathanamthitta district) 5 each.
