Union Budget to help economy to grow 11 percent
 
Thiruvananthapuram: Beta Group Chairman Dr J Rajmohan Pillai on Monday opined that the Union Budget was an overall positive and it can help the economy to grow with an expectation of 11 percent. All records in expenditure was broken in the budget. In the 5.5 lakh crore budget there is an increase of 137 percent than last year. Capital expenditure has been increased. There is no covid tax. The tax in agri sector has changed and there is no change in personal corporate taxes.

Banks nationalization act has been changed with the introduction of a new system. This is a big change. The government is expecting 5 lakh crore from denationalization by selling government companies in the next three years. There is only a minimal help for the Startups. The government should have given more thrust for the single man startup companies. The government had given tax exception for pension above 75 years. It could have been reduced to help the pensioners. The government could have made a much more imaginative budget.

It was good to see that colonial system of Finance Minister carrying a bag to present the budget was changed to digital. The system in England was followed here and now it has changed.
